The firm was naturally drawn into restoration work in the mid-1970s when Vermont's restoration movement was in its early stages. We became involved with a variety of restoration projects in Vergennes, Vermont ranging from brick and mortar projects to comprehensive Main Street revitalization plans.
H.J. LeBoeuf & Son, Inc. has been successful in completing renovations and restorations in a variety of high-profile "public" buildings such as the Ethan Allen Homestead, and the Hotel Putnam-Penny Saver complex in Bennington, Vermont, among others. Perhaps our most public restoration project is the Vergennes Opera House/City Hall, which has spurred a significant and successful revitalization of the Vergennes Main Street business district.  In 1888, C. L. LeBoeuf moved with his family to Vergennes, Vermont from Albany, New York, to start a career in construction. This began the LeBoeuf family tradition of excellence. Norman’s grandfather, Howard LeBoeuf, Sr., changed the company name to H. J. LeBoeuf & Son, and Norman’s father, Howard LeBoeuf, Jr. continued the name, which remains to this day. The projects shown here were completed by preceding generations, and represent the rich building history of the family business.
